Nate Washington A Former Steeler

Bon Voyage
This feels like Deja Vu all over again. Right after winning the Super Bowl the Steelers lose their number 3 receiver.
With a 6 year deal worth $27 million and that guarantees $9 million, the Tennessee Titans lured Washington away.
As fans we are sad to see Nate leave, but from a practical standpoint that contract seems extremely generous for a player who has yet to fully prove himself as ready to start in the number 1 or even 2 spot of a receiving core.
Washington has shown lots of potential talent as a Steeler, but has also been known to drop the easy catches almost as frequently. His speed and athletic talent did mix perfectly for a “third threat” in passing situations for the Steelers however.
Nate will get the chance to be the feature receiver for the Titans and we wish him well (other than when he lines up against the Black and Gold), and we certainly understand why he had to leave.
Still, it would be nice to win a Super Bowl and then keep our top 3 receivers for another season… maybe next year.
